The Scoop On Protein Powder

When I first got into exercising regularly I wanted to supplement my workouts with protein. I always have a post workout protein shake it helps me feel energized and rejuvenated. Is it necessary to have a shake after your workout? Post workout protein consumption is extremely important to help your muscles recover and grow, but it does not necessarily have to be a shake.

Choosing a high quality, good tasting protein powder can be overwhelming. Doing a quick search on amazon will yield in hundreds of options. How do you pick one?! I decided to review two of my favorites to help you make a decision, there are also links at the bottom of the page to take you directly to amazon if you want to try them out!

First Up – SAN Raw Fusion – Vanilla Flavored

Nutritional Breakdown:

  • 116 Calories Per Scoop
  • 0.7g Fat
  • 5g Carbohydrates
  • 21g Protein

I absolutely love Raw Fusion. It is a non-GMO plant based protein powder. I normally reach for plant based protein because I find them to be more easily digestible than whey options. My flavor of choice for Raw Fusion is Vanilla. This protein has a thick and creamy consistency when mixed with either water or milk (I always mix this with unsweetened vanilla almond milk). The vanilla flavoring of the powder is strong, but not to overpowering or sweet. One of the main reasons why I love Raw Fusion is because there are very few ingredients with a large portion of the shake being made with Pea-Protein.

Some of my favorite ways to utilize Raw Fusion is to either: make a smoothie with unsweetened vanilla almond milk, a banana and sometimes even peanut butter or even use it in the morning to pour on a bowl of cereal.

I have recommended Raw Fusion to several people before and they have all given me positive feedback about it. If you’re someone who likes thick, creamy and rich tasting shakes you will definitely love Raw Fusion.

Next up, MRM Veggie Elite – Vanilla Flavored

Nutritional Breakdown:

  • 130 Calories Per Scoop
  • 1.5g Fat
  • 4g Carbohydrates
  • 24g Protein

MRM Veggie Elite, Vanilla Flavored, is my go to protein of choice. Like Raw Fusion, this is also a non-GMO plant based protein powder. I absolutely love this protein because it is very light in consistency and has a subtle vanilla taste. There are also very few ingredients with the main protein sources coming from pea protein isolate and brown rice concentrate.

I typically utilize MRM Veggie Elite after all of my workouts. I recently recommended this protein powder to one of my close friends and she absolutely loves it. She regularly uses the chocolate flavor, which she says she loves using it to mix with unsweetened almond milk because it helps curb her post dinner dessert craving.

If you’re someone who likes light consistency and subtle flavors you will love this protein!
