The Right Time

clock-3179167_1920

“I really want to get in shape, I want to finally lose the 10 pounds I’ve been talking about, but this isn’t the right time.”

How often do you walk yourself through that scenario? You really do want to make a change but you tell yourself it’s not the right time and that you’ll do it later. Well, when is later? Why isn’t this the right time? What would make it the right time?

If you’ve asked yourself these questions before, you know the answer. There never is the right time. There is never going to be a time when the scenario is perfect for you to work on your health and fitness goals. There will always be birthdays, holidays, family gatherings, business trips, etc., and the sooner you can wrap your mind around the better off you will be.

Such a common misconception about embarking on a health and fitness journey is that you have to be perfect 100% of the time. Having that mindset is what deludes most people into thinking “this isn’t the right time”.

Success with your health and fitness goals comes from patience and consistency. If you really want to make a change in your life and accomplish your goals, stop waiting for “the right time” because it will never be the right time.

So very true about it never being the right time

      Agreed.

This is true! I do try to jog daily. I probably should stop with the sweets, but so long as my pants fit, I don’t worry! But I know exercise helps keep me healthy.

Exactly there never is the right time!

You are right. The time to take action is always now. Not a day later or a week or a month later. It’s now. Thanks for the reminder. Now, I have to go and take my half an hour walk :).

    • admin May 8, 2018 Reply

LOL happy to remind you! And agreed the time to take action is always right now!

  6. Cristina Coroiu May 8, 2018 Reply

Yup, there will never be a right time. My husband made some swimming subscription and now we have 2 months since we go. There were some breaks when we went on a vacation, and we still don’t eat correct but we do something about it. So you just have to start and indulge yourself.

This is very true, recently I made a big move to another state, before I actual move I had to just say to myself the time is now.

      Exactly!

I used this excuse for so long. I can’t work out because i’m too busy or I can’t eat healthy because I don’t have time to cook. I can’t keep pushing it aside.

    • admin May 8, 2018 Reply

Do your best to start today! Once you start it will be easy to keep going 🙂

This is so true. I tell myself I will wait until tomorrow to do something and then tomorrow comes and I push it bak further and further. I really need to stop waiting and just do it. Thanks for the post.

Definitely do! The best time to start is right now!

  12. Sarah Bailey May 8, 2018 Reply

I think for most things there will never be a “right time”. You just have to go for it or it will never happen.

      I completely agree!

This is so true! I am guilty of starting a diet on Monday, sabotaging it by Wednesday, and completely abandoning the idea until the following Monday.

I am now working on making healthy choices 80% of the time, and relaxing when a special occasion comes up.

    • admin May 9, 2018 Reply

That is such a common occurrence for many people, I’m happy you realized it and can start working on it!

  14. Kristen from The Road to Domestication May 9, 2018 Reply

You’re so right. We waste a lot of TIME waiting for the RIGHT time. Maybe the right time has already passed us by!

    • admin May 9, 2018 Reply

We do! And I completely agree!

  15. Anjali W May 9, 2018 Reply

So true! We neglect some important factors and put it for future ahead waiting for the right time. If we start working in present then the present will seem to be the right time!

    • admin May 9, 2018 Reply

      Exactly, great thought process!

  16. Adriana Lopez May 9, 2018 Reply

Health is wealth that’s what I always heard from my parent. I love staying outdoor when the weather is nice. Staying active like hiking is one of my favorite past time.

      We love hiking too 🙂

The right time will never be the right time… I am currently having come to that realization that I just need to start and stop making excuses for myself…

    • admin May 9, 2018 Reply

It is so easy to fall into the trap and keep making the same excuses, its so hard to finally break through and realize that the best time to start is right now.

  19. Hieu Le May 9, 2018 Reply

This is one of the truest statements that I have read today. I procrastinate everything, well I’m getting a little better. I have an enormous amount of weight to lose. I have lost some by setting little goals, although, at the end of each I take a free day and fail to get back at for weeks sometimes months because its not the right time.

    • admin May 9, 2018 Reply

We constantly work with our clients on overcoming this same obstacle that you’re working through. We would love to have a more in-depth conversation with you to see if there is anything we can do to help.

  21. What Corinne Did May 9, 2018 Reply

I don’t think there is a right time for anything so indeed, it is a waste of time to wait but I do think that things happen for a reason and come in time.

    • admin May 10, 2018 Reply

There never is the right time!

  22. Hollie May 9, 2018 Reply

Love this and I think there is never the perfect time. Often times, we just need to dive into a situation and make the best of it.

    • admin May 10, 2018 Reply

      Exactly!

  23. Kristy May 10, 2018 Reply

I think it was Cindy Crawford who said she tries to be 80% good 80% of the time. We don’t have to be so rigid with ourselves or expect perfection when we’re trying to be healthy. Every little good change helps.

  24. Jennifer L May 10, 2018 Reply

Embarking on a healthier lifestyle truly takes dedication, patience and hardwork. It’s definitely not a perfect journey but with the right motivation is attainable for sure.

We all know this. Heard this ever since we were growing up. But when someone else tells or retells it, there is new significance. Yes, it is the right time that is the right time.

so true girl. I struggle with this in many facets of life. and more importantly than anything, it’s YOU who has to want to make the change. I feel like sometimes you get pressure from parents or significant others or friends to make a change, but until YOU truly believe it’s the right now, it won’t be long-standing.
