Macro-Friendly Tortilla Chips

Macro-Friendly Tortilla Chips

I had a lot of requests for my amazing tortilla chip recipe and my nacho recipe. Let’s start with the basics and master the art of tortilla chip making before we get complex with the Nachos!

The key to making the Macro-Friendly Tortilla Chips is to use a macro-friendly tortilla. My two favorite brands are Tumaro’s & La Tortilla Factory. I tend to go for Tumaro’s as my first choice and La Tortilla Factory as my second – but both are good! Mission also has some great tortilla options they just tend to be a bit high in carbs for my liking!

For this recipe, I used Tumaro’s Whole Wheat Wrap. I made mine using the air fryer – but this can be done in the oven as well if you do not have an air fryer!

No matter where you make them – make sure to spread out your tortilla pieces as much as possible – they will get more crispy this way – and in my opinion the crispier the better!   Please see the recipe below – if you have any questions comment below and I’ll help you out 🙂

Ingredients

  • 1 Wrap Tumaro's Whole Wheat
  • Non-Stick Cook Spray
  • Garlic Powder, Sea Salt, Pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Air Fryer Directions:

    1. Fold your tortilla in half

    2. Cut your tortilla into triangle (or any shape pieces) I use a pizza cutter for this - it makes it very easy!

    3. Place your tortilla in the bottom of your air fryer - space them out as much as possible trying to minimize any overlapping

    4. Spray them with a bit of non-stick cooking spray (this will allow the seasonings to stick)

    5. Sprinkle your desired seasonings over the tortillas - (I typically use just pepper and garlic powder - I try to keep my sodium intake to a minimum)

    6. Set your air fryer to 350 degrees and cook for 6 minutes.

    7. Enjoy!

Oven Directions: Preheat Your Oven to 400 degrees

    1 & 2: Same as Above

    3. Line a cookie sheet with foil - and spray it! You do not want them to stick!

    4. Once they are all lined up - do an additional light coat of spray on top in order to get the seasonings to stick.

    5. Bake for 5-6 Minutes Take them out and flip them all over and bake them for another 5-6 Minutes!

    6. Enjoy
